Macworld Expo San Francisco will have a strong focus on music and audio, the organisers have confirmed.
This reflects a music-oriented year for Apple. The Expo takes place between January 9-13.
The show will showcase Mac music education, several music-related exhibitors, the Berklee Dream Studio, a podcasting stage and the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus - a state-of-the-art mobile recording and multimedia studio.
Berklee College of Music will present the Dream Studio, a cutting-edge music studio filled with Mac hardware and software, alongside daily lectures by Berklee faculty.
Several Mac/music-related educational sessions will take place during Macworld. Topics include using Apple's Logic application in music production, podcasting, GarageBand, and more.
The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus is a unique non-profit state-of-the-art mobile recording and multimedia studio. It will trundle up to show so attendees can learn how artists like the Black Eyed Peas have used the bus to work with students and record their own music.
New to next year's event, the Macworld Auto Show will feature several custom cars from leading manufacturers - that integrate iPods, or even Macs. A Volkswagen GTi and a Porsche Cayenne will display the latest in vehicle-specific iPod docks; a vintage Buick Riviera will be custom fitted with a Mac mini; plus there will be many more Mac-auto integrations from leading companies Alpine, Dension Audio Systems, 2point5, and Schosche.
