Creativepro.com may have "closed or reduced its Web presence" due to the softening economy.
Macworld sources close to the company say its employees are on hiatus, and are unlikely to return.
Creativepro.com declined to comment on the news, neither confirming nor denying the story. The company still has product releases in the pipeline, so its core business remains secure.
Online service Extensis changed its name to Creativepro.com - which supplies e-services and software tools - and launched the site for the creative industry. The Extensis brand was retained for its products, which include Suitcase, Preflight Pro and its online pre-flighting services.
ImageX.com purchased Extensis and Creativepro.com in 2000 in a $97.1 million cash and stock deal. Extensis and Creativepro.com maintains its own CEO Craig Barnes and employs 120 people.
When the name change was originally announced, Barnes said: "We are now focused on a new, broader goal: becoming the number one company in Internet-enhanced products and services for creative professionals."
Parent company ImageX.com's stock stands at $0.54, following the revision of its expectations for its third financial-quarter. The company expects revenues of $12.2 million - a cash loss of 18 cents per share - for the quarter. Shares reached this year's high of $4.375 on January 30. ImageX.com was hailed as the second fastest-growing tech company by accountancy firm Deloitte & Touche in September.
