Microsoft has revealed the name of its forthcoming integrated email application, to be called Entourage 2001.
Entourage 2001 will be bundled as part of Microsoft’s Office 2001 Macintosh Edition. It will be an email and personal-information manager designed with simplicity and ease of use in mind, and includes a number of Mac only features.
The company says its research has shown the need to accommodate the Mac market, and that Mac users want innovative software.
Simple Microsoft promise that the application will offer easy-editing tools, similar to its Word application, and flexible follow-up tools with automated reminder facilities. Entourage 2001 will also offer comprehensive Address Book, Calendar and Task list facilities, the company claims.
Other features will include Address Auto-completion, Custom Views - a Mac-first - and Palm synchronization. The Address Book and Calendar will be accessible from within any Office application.
