Apple inspires fierce brand loyalty among fans and investors alike, a top US investment writer has claimed.
Jack Sirard, a senior editor and business writer for the Sacramento Bee believes that investor support for Apple is on a par with that of die-hard Mac enthusiasts:
"Apple has a cult following among its long-term supporters who wouldn't trade their beloved Macs for anything produced by IBM and its clones.
"The same can be said of the company's investors. They stick by the company, whose stock has been known to take investors on many a roller-coaster ride."
Sirad's comments are borne out by recent research conducted by Corporate Branding, which rated Apple as thirteenth strongest out of 75 corporate brands in California.
James Gregory, CEO of Corporate Branding, said: "The beauty of a strong brand is that it helps companies to weather the economic storm."
