Apple G4 processor partner Motorola has revealed the name for its semiconductor company that it plans to spin-off later this year.
Motorola's money-losing semiconductor arm has been under great pressure from its parent company during the last three years of IT slump. It's now to be called Freescale Semiconductor.
Freescale Semiconductor president and CEO Scott Anderson said: "Freescale Semiconductor provides customers with a heritage built on fifty years of semiconductor experience.
"We're pleased to blend the expertise and stability of an established technology provider with the spirit and fresh vision of a new company. Accordingly, we've created a name that's intended to identify our team's dedication to agility, service and reliability."
