Apple iTunes-phone partner Motorola will host and webcast a "media event" on July 25.

The event - which is billed by the company as: "Motorola unveiling what's wow and what's now" - will be hosted by company chairman and CEO Ed Zander.

It begins at 7pm Central Daylight Time (12pm UK time). The company will host a second event for financial analysts the next day.

It's possible the July 25 event will see Motorola launch its co-developed iTunes phone, according to AppleInsider.

Citing "sources", it reports as possibility that Apple CEO Steve Jobs may join Zander at the event to help launch the iTunes phone, as he did last year to announce the partner's plans.

Jobs then said: "The mobile phone market - with 1.5 billion subscribers expected worldwide by the end of 2004 - is a phenomenal opportunity to get iTunes in the hands of even more music lovers around the world and we think Motorola is the ideal partner to kick this off."

Zander said: "We can't think of a more natural partnership than this one with Apple."
