The Mozilla Organization has released Mozilla for Mac OS X 1.4 release candidate 2.
Mozilla is an open-source browser that uses the same rendering engine as Netscape Communicator. It is being developed by the Free Software Community with the co-operation and support of Netscape. It offers "standards compliance, performance and portability," the developers claim.
The release fixes known bugs, and overhauls the architecture of the browser's Bookmarks feature, introducing support for site icons in the Bookmark Manager and Bookmark Sidebar.
It also introduces support for click-&-drag dynamic image and table resizing when building sites with Mozilla Composer. The Mail feature now has improved Junk Mail controls, while pop-up ad blocking ha been streamlined for better usability. Other changes improve stability, performance, Web-site compatibility improvements and better standards support.
Mozilla 1.4 is available for free download.
