BTG and Teleshuttle Technologie have filed lawsuits against Apple and Microsoft for infringement of technologies patented by Teleshuttle.
The suit concerns Apple's Web-enabled software update technologies and Microsoft's active desktop and offline browsing technologies. The suit alleges that Microsoft's and Apple's operating systems, and Microsoft's Office Suite, incorporate the patented technologies.
The patent covers the work of Richard Reisman, who created methods and products to enhance online computing in the 1990s. The patent is owned by Teleshuttle Technologies, LLC, with BTG as the exclusive worldwide licensee.
"This move follows Microsoft's and Apple's delay in entering into a licensing agreement with BTG on commercially reasonable terms," BTG said.
