A report confirms that Macs remain the tools of choice for professional music makers.

A profile piece looks at leading UK music college, Point Blank. Based in London and Sheffield, the college provides a range of award-winning courses in music engineering, production, DJing and radio. And the college works to introduce its students to the Mac: "If you are going to work professionally in the music industry, there's a good chance you'll use a Mac."

Tutors at the college like to focus on music creation, not the technology, producer/tutor JC Concato said: "Technology should be as transparent as possible, I don't want to have to worry about software drivers and compatibility. I just want to make music".
