A former product manager for QuickTime VR has joined MusicNet.
Ted Casey has joined the company as president of business development and partner relations. MusicNet provides aggregation and other services to labels in partnership with digital music services.
He will manage the expansion of MusicNet's global roster of distribution partners, and will be overseeing partner relations, marketing, strategy, and public relations on a global basis.
Alan McGlade, president and CEO of MusicNet, said: "This year, MusicNet will roll out its new Performer Next Generation platform across the PC, portable music devices, mobile phones and set-top boxes, which will allow our distribution partners to offer their customers a content-rich and seamless digital entertainment experience."
Most recently, Casey worked at Verizon Wirelss, a US mobile network. He led the development of the company's mobile music business. He also has a stint at Lycos under his belt, before which he worked at Apple.
