4D has announced 4D Mail, a high-performance mail server for Mac OS X, and has released a Carbonized version of its online-store development tool 4D Business Kit.
4D Mail is a scalable mail server offering anti-spam features, support for anti-virus and WebMail. The product is built on a high-performance SMTP/POP/IMAP mail server with remote administration, advanced relay blocking, and is compatible with POP and IMPA email clients, such as Eudora Pro and MailSmith.
"Mac OS X users have been clamouring for an easy to use mail server that everyone can afford," said 4D CEO Brendan Coveney. "4D Mail scores huge points on both counts and we think the Mac community is going to love it."
4D Mail will be avaialble in early September from www.4d.com. A 10-mailbox licence will cost $149, and a 100-mailbox licence costs $249. An unlimited-licence version will also be available for $1,499.
