Mac gamers have heard a number games industry announcements at Macworld Expo this week.
Aspyr has announced its intention to release a Mac port of Novalogic's Delta Force – Black Hawk Down in May. This modern warfare game puts players in the role of an elite US Delta Force soldier who must prevail against warlords in Mogadishu, Somalia.
The company has also confirmed it plans to release the Allied Assault Breakthrough expansion pack for modern combat sim Medal of Honor. SimCity 4 players are promised an expansion pack, too, SimCity 4 Rush Hour, which offers a range of new transport options for dedicated Sims lovers.
UK games developer Feral Interactive revealed its plans to publish Bionicle for OS X. This game is based on Lego toys, and puts players in a game of good against evil with action featuring swimming, snowboarding, exploring forests and more.
Feral also announced plans to ship a Mac port of Ubi Soft's popular chess simulation: ChessMaster 9000. This title simulates almost every level of chess playing ability, offering players a challenge to match their skills. The last version to appear on the Mac was ChessMaster 6000 in the late 90s. The player is given the choice of different boards and different opponents (Computer or real life player) of different strength.
The title allows players to enjoy and learn from more than 800 classic games, including the best of 2001 and 2002 Grand Master games, features 50 different opponents and 3D graphics.
Finally for US gamers, Freeverse Software and Germany's e.p.i.c. Interactive announced a North American distribution deal that should get the German firms games to a wider audience.
