Napster is being sued by two new litigants in separate lawsuits filed Tuesday, reports claim.

Emusic, a company that runs a subscription-based music-download service is alleging that Napster is guilty of vicarious and contributory copyright infringement - the same charges as those raised by the Recording Industry Association of America on behalf of its members. Emusic claims Napster is permitting Emusic's licenced songs to be traded on its file sharing system.

The organizers of the Grammy Awards are also filing against Napster. They are angry because performances recorded during last month's ceremony have appeared on Napster. One of the offending files features a duet between Elton John and Eminem.

The awards producers claim they intended to release an album of performances from the awards, but the appearance of the songs on Napster has forced them to reconsider the release.
