The Digital Printing Council has recruited Adobe, Canon, HP, Kodak and others for a major initiative to be revealed in September.

The Digital Printing Council is a body backed by the Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF). This the world's largest graphic arts trade association representing over 1.2 million employees.

Adobe, Canon, HP, Kodak, Xerox, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), CalPoly Technical Institute and Clemson University have joined together to support the scheme, which will be unveiled at PRINT 05 in Chicago (September 9 - 15).

Digital Printing Council director Joanne Vinyard said details regarding the initiative, known as "M4D", will be announced to the media on September 11, 2005.

The Digital Printing Council aims to provide members witt: "Informative tools and publications that are designed to help firms be more productive, efficient, and generate more sales with new digital technologies," the group claims.
