Blue Line Studios has released WebsiteCompressor 2.0.6 for the Mac.
Like its now-discontinued forerunner, WebsiteDietician, WebsiteCompressor can streamline HTML code generated by WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) HTML-editors.
Many WYSIWYG programs add extraneous characters to format or comment upon the HTML code generated. This data is ignored by Web browsers, but increases download times. WebsiteCompressor removes unnecessary code.
Also new are image conversion and recompressing capabilities, with batch converting of image files from various formats to JPEG. Cascading Style Sheet scripts are now properly recognized by the application.
A 30-day Trial version is available from Blue Line The registration fee for the full version is $20.
