NTL has launched its free Internet service, ntlworld, a week ahead of schedule.
The service offers free Internet calls, free ISP subscription and free call connection. NTL, part owned by Microsoft, also announced details of its free TV-Internet service, available from April 17.
Available to all NTL or BT residential customers, NTL also offers five e-mail addresses, 10MB free Web space and access to news groups.
BT customers need a £10 telephone adaptor to access NTL’s 3-2-1 telephone service. Customers must also spend £10 per month on non-Internet calls.
Customers can register at NTL, or call the company on 0800 952 4343.
The TV-Internet service costs £10 per month rental, the box plugs into the TV and phone sockets and comes with an infra-red keyboard, so users can e-mail from the sofa.
