A study by Magex, reveals that Internet users who do not download fear credit-card fraud.
The study, which examines consumer downloading behaviour and attitudes in the UK and US, highlights security as a real concern for Internet users with "payment security" featuring high on their list of priorities.
Surprisingly, only 37% of respondents would prefer to pay for downloads with a credit card.
Patrick Campbell, CEO of Magex, said: "The results of the Magex survey are quite revealing. The leading concern from consumers is still payment security. Our number one goal is to build trust in e-commerce and safeguard users against payment fraud."
Respondents would prefer a payment method they are familiar with. If they have had positive experiences purchasing online, it’s likely they would be comfortable choosing their credit card to purchase downloads.
