Opera Software today released Opera 6 Web browser for Mac OS X 10.2.
Opera 6 offers a faster and better Internet experience than previous versions, the company claims.
Changes in Opera 6 for Mac include faster rendering speed, improved font-switching for international Web pages, a number of user interface fixes, and a new auto-save pages feature.
It also includes local language support, with Japanese and German versions also available for download.
Mary Lambert, product line manager for Opera Software, said: "With today's release we confirm our commitment to the Mac platform.
"Mac is an important part of our cross-platform strategy, and we’re working hard to ensure that Opera for Mac will become the default browser for Mac users."
Lambert added: "In the future, Opera for Mac will be available in many more languages. We aim to provide a faster, smaller, more standards-compliant, and secure browser for Mac users worldwide."
For a limited period, Opera for Mac is available for $29, a $10 saving on the usual price. With the discount, users receive a free upgrade to version 7.
