Network Magazine has voted Mac OS X 10.2 Server as winner of its 16th annual Product of the Year.

The awards "recognize the outstanding technical achievement of products and services that are most significant to the network IT community". A total of 27 awards were granted in eight categories.

Awards are given to products and services released in 2002 on the following criteria: the products' broad appeal to the network IT community; competitive enhancements; price/performance advantages; ingenuity; new features and applications; and serviceability to the market.

The title's editor-in-chief Steve Steinke said: "This year's winners prove that innovation in the network IT space is alive and well, despite the tough year for the high-tech market. Many noteworthy hardware and software products, as well as services, emerged that will provide great returns for network IT managers and their enterprises."
