PalmOne has sold over five million handhelds in Europe, the company announced today.
The company's products hold 38 per cent of the European handheld market, it said. It recently launched two new Tungsten products (Tungsten 3 and Tungsten E), a new Zire consumer-oriented handheld and the new Treo 600 PDA/phone in Europe.
Vesey Crichton, PalmOne's vice president of Europe, said: "Our recent acquisition of Handspring means that we can now offer our current customers and thousands of new individuals and businesses the broadest portfolio of mobile computing and communications products in the industry.
The company plans to "take the mobile computing market into new sectors" and will work with others to develop the platform", he said.
