Apple is set to benefit from signs of growth in the US PC industry, an influencial report claims.
A report by Standard and Poors claims that growth is being led by consumer spending on personal computers.
Standard and Poors credit analyst Martha Toll-Reed said: "Dell, Apple and IBM are all expected to be early beneficiaries of IT spending improvement." The analyst was more cautious about HP's progress, and downlplayed potential improvements for Sun and Silicon Graphics.
A Reuters report says that in order for there to be a full IT recovery, this growth will need to be matched by growth in corporate IT spends.
Apple will report its fourth quarter and end of year results on October 15.
