Macworld UK's October edition hits the high street today with an exclusive first look at Adobe Photoshop 8.0.
The feature is based on a beta version of the world's favourite image editor that escaped the Adobe fortress. While it is clear that not all the new features are complete in the version featured, there are plenty of new abilities showcased.
The overall interface remains familiar, but improvements can be found in almost every part of the application. Multiple filters can now be applied in a single-pass, histograms are updated as you work, rather than a static view, and the new Match Color feature modifies colour balance of multiple images so they blend together perfectly.
Adobe hasn't yet announced the forthcoming version of Photoshop. However clues are pointing to a release date in the final quarter of this year.
The October issue of Macworld is on sale now and costs £4.99.
