Brother will ship its new Rendezvous-compliant HL-5070N mono laser printer in April.
It first announced plans to release the product at Macworld Expo San Francisco in January, and is in the forefront to bring Apple's zero-configuration networking technology to Mac users.
Brother UK's printer product manager Chris Hinds said: "Rendezvous is a truly revolutionary technology, it enables seamless LAN integration without the need for configuration. For the first time device-to-device interaction is possible for Mac users, enabling automatic configuration with a wide range of "smart" devices. In future this might include everything from TVs to media servers."
The HL-5070N offers speeds of 17ppm, has a resolution of 2,400-x-600dpi and a 250-sheet paper capacity. Additional features include PostScript Level 3 emulation, 10BaseT Ethernet, USB 2.0 and 16MB (expandable to 144MB) of memory. The printer ships with Brother's own network-based printer management software.
The product carries a recommended £379 (inc-VAT) price tag.
