Roxio/Napster today announced it has completed the sale of its consumer software division to Sonic Solutions.
Sonic Solutions takes all the company's Windows software products, and its Mac-compatible Toast and Popcorn software. The sale has been approved by both company boards.
Company chairman and CEO Chris Gorog said: "We are very pleased to have closed this transaction before the end of 2004 so we can now focus 100 per cent of our efforts on taking Napster to new levels of sucess."
Reflecting its new focus, Roxio has changed its name to Napster and its stock trade ticker will change from ROXI to NAPS on January 3, when it will be the first company to open the exchange.
