Apple has signed-up Quanta and Asustek to build Intel-inside PowerBooks potentially for release in the first quarter of 2006, a report claims.
EMS states the services of the two Far East manufacturers have been secured, though neither Apple nor the manufacturers will comment on the news.
However, the report says: "Apple computer stated it would exhibit its desktops and notebooks with Intel processor at Macworld Expo San Francisco between January 9-13 in 2006."
True, false or FUD, the report adds: "Asustek will work on consumer Macs and Quanta will be in charge of professional machines."
Apple CEO Steve Jobs will reveal the real deal for Apple in 2006 during his keynote speech on January 10 at Macworld Expo San Francisco.
