Apple's Mac mini will be reborn in January as a digital hub powered by an Intel processor, a report claims.
Think Secret reports the new Mac mini will include Front Row 2.0 and TiVO-like digital video recorder (DVR) functions, and that it will debut at Macworld Expo, San Francisco in January.
The report cites sources who call Apple's DVR software a "TiVO-killer", adding that talks between the two companies recently failed.
The new model is also reported as carrying a built-in iPod dock.
"Apple now seems poised to firmly plant its footprint in living rooms," the report concludes.
