Apple has announced that John Brandon is to join the company as vice president of sales for the Americas and Asia Pacific.
"John will lead our sales for the US, Canada, South America and Asia Pacific, excluding education and retail stores," Apple said.
Tim Cook, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide sales and operations, said: "His track record shows his ability to significantly grow market share and provide excellent leadership to his teams."
Brandon's background includes a stint as president and CEO of Academic Systems Corporation (ASC). He led this company to become the leading supplier of technology-based content to the higher-education market.
The new VP also spent ten years at Adobe, where he helped create its application software business and served as vice president and general manager for North America from 1994-1997.
