Frankfurt's MusikMesse event is helping put music-making on Mac OS X on the map.
Steinberg has announced the forthcoming availability of Nuendo Media Production system for Mac OS X. Nuendo is an advanced audio-production and editing solution utilized in recording studios worldwide. This application was used in the creation of Queen's A Night at the Opera.
Registered users of Nuendo Mac will soon be invited to join the beta program. The company describes Nuendo as "one of the most powerful media production systems available". The company confirmed that it's working closely with Apple's Audio team to ensure the best possible implementation of Nuendo for Mac OS X. Steinberg is preparing drivers for the Nuendo Audio and MIDI Hardware System for Mac OS X
On a non-OS X tip, Native Instruments presented a host of products at the show, including a non-Carbonized version of its product Reaktor Session. This offers a vast library of synthesizers, samplers and beat loopers, groove and drum machines,
surround effects, and pattern and control sequencers.
This is expected to ship in August 2002 and to cost €349. The company also demonstrated new iterations of Ni-Spektral Delay 1.5 and Traktor DJ Studio 2.0. More details regarding these products is available from the company's Web site.
