Connectix has "no plans" to develop Mac OS 9-compatible versions of its Speed Doubler and Surf Express software, according to the company’s Web site.
On a technical support page on the site, Connectix explains which of its products are compatible with Mac OS 9. While Virtual PC 3.0, Virtual Game Station and Ram Doubler are all compatible, Speed Doubler 8, Surf Express and Surf Express Deluxe are not. The site says: "Currently, Connectix has no plans to upgrade these products for Mac OS 9 compatibility."
Meanwhile, Ram Doubler 9, the new version of the company’s RAM expansion utility, is set to ship this week. According to the Connectix Web site, a free downloadable upgrade will be available this week, and the software will be for sale at the online shop from January 19.
