London Mac solutions reseller the Square Group has hired an experienced Apple staffer to run its service and support centre.
Apple's Nick Cowell has quit Apple to work with Square. Cowell spent nine years at Apple: four years in Cupertino, where he managed worldwide service and support for the company. He was also Apple's senior European systems engineer based in the UK.
Square Group also confirmed the new hiring to be part of the company's plan to launch its own online service booking system, called iRepair.
Customers using iRepair will be able to book support online, and will get a time slot for bringing their Mac in for inspection. There will also be an area containing hints and tips for customers with minor problems they may be able to repair by themselves.
