Strata is shipping the Rich Media Edition version 3.6 of Strata 3Dpro, it's 3D-design application.
Strata 3Dpro 3.6 shipped in May. The Rich Media Edition adds the ability to export 3D animations and images as Macromedia Flash files and other vector-graphics formats for Web and print. Images can also be created in pixel-based formats, for example JPEGs.
Strata president Dennis Derrick said: "Not only will Strata be able to provide its global user-base with the ability to re-purpose 3D content, but it will also be able to speak to entirely new communities, such as current Flash users."
For Flash support the application employs the Swift 3D PowerModule, which uses RAViX II rendering technology developed by Electric Rain. This is a solution for creating high-quality, low bandwidth, scalable 3D-vector animations for Flash-enabled Web sites. It offers a variety of vector-graphics outputs, including three levels of outlines, five of cartoon shading, two levels of gradient shading, shadows and highlights.
The application is not Carbonized for Mac OS X. It requires Mac OS 8.6 or later, QuickTime 3.0 or higher and 128MB of RAM. No pricing is available at this time, distribution in the UK is handled by Gomark.
