Sun Microsystems has tempted Tom Goguen to return to the company after a stint at Apple.
Apple employed Goguen to lead its marketing efforts for OS X Server and its high-performance computer products, such as Xserves. Now, Goguen's former employer, Sun Microsystems, has employed Goguen as its new vice president of marketing for its Solaris products, reports CNet News.com.
Holder of a master's degree in engineering from the Univbersity of Ottawa, Canada, Goguen's work has already begun. When interviewed he described Solaris as "fantastic technology".
It's a loss for Apple, which hired Goguen in 2001 from Eazel, where he was in charge of Eazel's desktop and Internet services. His experience in the enterprise software markets is widely regarded as important to Apple's high-end computing plans.
