The organizers of the European print media and publishing show Drupa have announced the dates of the 2008 event.
The event, which takes place every four years in Dusseldorf, Germany, will be held from May 29 to June 11 2008. The 2004 show takes place from May 6-19.
Show chairman Holger Reichardt said: "We felt it important to confirm the dates for Drupa 2008 this early to give the industry time for long-term planning.
The 2004 show is also shaping up, organizers said: "Despite investment restraint and the general world downturn, the global trade fair is already booked out, and a waiting list set up for companies still wishing to exhibit."
The 2004 show has attracted 1,800 exhibitors. Drupa 2004 president Albrecht Bolza-Schunemann said: "This illustrates the importance that Drupa holds. It's both an economic engine and a barometer of our industry.
"Drupa is to the printing and paper industries what the Olympic Games are to athletes. It's an opportunity for seeing all the latest technologies in media production and processing live in action."
The 2000 event attracted 428,248 visitors and 1,943 exhibitors from 50 countries, the organizers said.
