A deluge of desktop computers equipped with Intel's newly launched Core 2 Duo processors are on display at a Taiwanese trade show.
Companies are demonstrating the new machines at the Taipei Computer Applications Show, which runs until August 7. Apple's Worldwide Developer's Conference kicks off that same day with an Apple CEO Steve Jobs and other executive keynote speech.
The systems on show range between high-end PCs for the most demanding gamers and lower-end affordable systems.
Computers on show mainly feature 1.86GHz processors. Companies exhibiting their Core 2 Duo desktop wares include Genuine, Synnex, Intel and Hannstar.
Otherwise, the event is focused on notebooks. Most of Taiwan's bigger companies, such as Acer, Asustek and Micro-Star, were concentrating on selling laptop models at the user show.
