TC Works announced a number of product updates for Mac musicians at giant music trade show NAMM 2003 yesterday.

The company will release Spark XL 2.7 next month. This upgrade is the first to support Mac OS X - OS 9 support has been discontinued. This update adds direct CD burning from within the playlist. It also adds some audio-mastering features, including crossfade and pause from the playlist. The company will introduce support for Apple's Audio Unit plug-in architecture within this application in spring. The solution costs $599.

TC Works has also released a Mac OS X driver for the PowerCore Digital Signal Processing card. This introduces Audio Unit plug-In support and enhances system performance. All users of Emagic's Logic Audio, Steinberg's Cubase SX or other applications with VST or Audio Unit plug-in support can use the new OS X driver. A version for MOTU will follow later this spring.

A new product - Assimilator for PowerCore is available now. This processes the EQ-curve of any reference mix onto any target material. It can be used to analyze the EQ-curve of any reference material and apply target material in real-time. It costs $299.

The company also announced PowerCore 1.7 for OS X. The DSP product update adds a selection of plug-ins, including: MegaReverb; ClassicVerb; a virtual multiband mastering processor; a five-band mastering equalizer; an analogue sounding compressor and limiter and chorus/delay. This product ships in March as a free upgrade, or as a full product for $1,199.
