Tenon Intersystems has released Xtools 1.0, its X Windows server for Mac OS X.
X Windows is an open, cross-platform, client/server system for managing a windowed graphical user interface in a distributed network. It allows users to remotely access computer systems and permits users to view remote X Windows applications. Tenon's product ships with a set of tools and libraries that support local execution of X Windows games and applications on Mac OS X.
Xtools 1.0 brings an X Windows interface to the new operating system, and lets X Windows servers and Mac OS X applications communicate over an Aqua-compatible desktop-based interface.
Xtools 1.0 has been optimized for multiprocessing Power Macs and the Velocity Engine instruction-set preloaded onto G4 processors. It's available for online purchase and costs $199.
