Apple has delayed the UK release of its new Time Capsule product until March.

Announced at Macworld Expo in January, Time Capsule is a combined wireless network-attached hard drive and AirPort Base Station. The product is designed to act as a hard drive for Leopard users which allows them to automate Time Machine back-ups to the drive over their home or office WiFi network.

Originally scheduled to ship this month, the UK online store now warns of a three or four week wait for the system to ship, meaning it's unlikely to reach this country in quantity until March.

Apple's US store indicates the US market will once again be given access to the product before then, in February.

It's possible Apple has seen unexpected demand for the product, because Time Capsule is listed on the company's UK store as its second biggest-selling Mac product, just behind the MacBook Air and ahead of the 13-inch MacBook.
