Time Magazine has declared Apple's Power Mac G5 and Mac OS X 10.3 the combined "gadget of the week".

"I've said it before, but it's never been more true: Macs and Windows PCs can live in the same house, on the same home network, sharing the same files and even the same hardware, like printers, digital cameras and more," the article says claims.

It adds: "Mac OS X 10.3 does tons of things previous versions of the OS couldn't do."

The piece praises the OS for its network-friendly features, user interface, Windows compatibility, file-sharing features, fast PDF viewer, Expose, iDisk integration and FileVault.

The piece concludes: "Bottom line for the Mac users: it only gets better from here on in. Bottom line for Windows people: getting a Mac doesn't mean switching. It just means having a little more fun."
