Roxio has released a 5.0.2 update for Toast 5 that improves the application's performance in Classic mode.
The update offers better compatibility with DiscBurner and iTunes, and also adds buffer underrun protection for DVD-R drives. Roxio's move follows Apple's release of Mac OS 9.2.1.
Roxio also claims the update is more responsive when burning to built-in ATAPI/IDE recorders, and that it offers improved support for Apple's SuperDrive as well as Pioneers and Yamaha's combination CD-RW/DVD-R/RW units.
The 3.7MB freely downloadable update modifies only the Classic version of Toast. English, German, French and Japanese versions of the update are available.
