Software publisher Avanquest UK has launched IMSI's flagship computer assisted design (CAD) product TurboCAD (2D) for Mac OS X in the UK.
The new version includes over 250 design and drafting tools with tips and customizable keyboard shortcuts, all intended to bring more efficiency to the design process. TurboCAD contains a full complement of dimensioning tools and snaps, plus it has the capability to import fifteen and export eleven different CAD and graphics formats.
In praise of Tiger
"Mac OS X is ideally suited for CAD applications and we're very excited to bring TurboCAD back to the Mac platform to take advantage of the new features in Tiger," said Bob Mayer, European vice president of Precision Design, IMSI.
"Thanks to the speed and flexibility of Tiger's new Spotlight technology, you can quickly search the extensive TurboCAD symbol library using relevant keywords to easily identify candidate parts."
The TurboCAD Explorer includes an intuitive Layer Manager and Symbol Palette with drag-and-drop access to over 8,000 symbols and parts including electrical, mechanical, bathroom, kitchen, construction, doors, windows, counters, fasteners and more.
TurboCAD for Mac includes a conversion tool which automatically allows users to create precise 2D wireframe and hidden line drawings from imported 3D components or assembly drawings, including AutoCAD, DXF and DWG files.
TurboCAD for the Mac requires Mac OS X 10.2 and later and costs £79.99 (including VAT).
