UK-based iPod accessory store iWorld has begun selling the critically-acclaimed iFi iPod-dockable system.
The company is taking pre-orders now and expects to ship the system in March.
Manufactured by Klipsch, the £249 iFi features an 8in 200 Watt subwoofer and two RSX 3 satellite speakers. Speakers can be wall-mounted.
It offers a built-in iPod dock, an RF remote (which operates at a significantly longer range that an infrared remote) and exploits the company's proprietary audio technologies.
"A 0.75-inch titanium dome tweeter coupled to an exclusive Klipsch round Tractrix Horn allows this speaker to deliver a dynamic, three-dimensional soundstage. Powerful magnet structures provide high efficiency and low distortion," the company claims.
The dock features volume controls with a light bar to show its current volume. Standby/mute button and volume/subwoofer select buttons also feature.
As it stands the system is compatible with all earlier models of iPod, though video iPods, iPod nanos and iPod shuffles need to connect to the audio line-in port at the back of the unit.
"We are currently in the process of developing adapters so that the iFi will work with the new Nano and video iPod. They should be ready next month," a Klipsch spokesperson told Macworld.
