Doncaster College has become the first European education centre accredited to teach Apple's Logic 6 software.
The college's School of Intermedia and Performance Arts has been granted Apple Certified Training Centre for Logic 6. The first European college to be given this status.
Apple has trained tutor David Kirtlan to deliver Apple's 101 course from its Pro Apps training series. Kirtlan said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for the school, and not only benefits our students, but anyone who wants to develop a knowledge of Logic."
The college hopes to add further Apple courses to its curriculum, including Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro.
Doncaster has also recently gained Digidesign support, and has become a Digidesign-sponsored school, offering Pro Tools courses. The tutor here is Nigel Pease, and says: "By the end of June all of our HE Music Technology students will have taken the Digidesign 101 course, which is in addition to working towards a degree."
Training in both subjects are available as individual courses and also as part of Doncaster's degree programmes.
