A new service to repair out-of-warranty iPods, UK iPod Repairs, has launched in the UK.
The company can replace failed batteries, broken screens, damaged sockets and broken drives.
"If you have a smashed or broken screen or want a high-capacity battery we can fit a replacement and have your iPod back to you within 48-hours", the company promises.
"We also repair broken iPod headphone sockets and Firewire ports, replace dead hard disk drives, fix non-responding scroll wheels and buttons," the company added.
Example prices: replacement if a first or second-generation FireWire or headphone port costs £40, £45 for a third generation iPod. Hard drive replacement prices are not listed by the company, except for the 15GB drive, which costs £75.
The company, which has not been tested by Macworld, is based in Kent.
