Universal is putting its recently digitized European music catalogue to work, licensing its music for distribution through T-Online's mobile music service, Musicload.
The music company is licensing 300,000 tracks to the service, including material from Eminem, Shania Twain and No Angels. T-Online's European store now has 70,000 registered users.
At present, the service operates through a Web-based interface while mobile-phone firms work to develop the next generation of mobile-music services, which will be controlled purely through the phone.
Musicload launched in August 2003.
