Vampire Software has released a Mac OS X-compatible version of its PcConverter utility.
PcConverter offers a selection of tools designed to help cross-platform file exchanges between Macintosh, Windows and Unix systems.
It will convert files from and to many different formats, convert text files and RTF files from Windows or Unix to Mac OS, as well as processing custom database files and automating text-file conversion to HTML.
The solution can compensate for the misinterpretation of special text-characters that occurs when transferring these between systems. To fix this, PcConverter comes with six tables that can convert text files (DOS, Unix and Windows) and correctly use them in Mac OS.
The utility also lets users create their own conversion tables to expand its uses. PcConverter is available for download shareware and costs $20.
