The ARC Company has launched its Mac Video CD-player application.
MacVCD can play back Video CDs through a conventional CD-ROM drive. It supports large screens, multiple video CDs – if you have more than one CD drive – and enables Video CDs to be saved as QuickTime movies.
To playback Video CDs, the MacVCD must be launched before the VCD is inserted into the CD ROM drive, then the title is selected from the VCD Menu. The app can also be used to playback QuickTime movies.
The program costs $10 and requires a Power PC Macintosh running a G3 or G4 processor.
