Two financial analysts are maintaining that Apple will introduce a multimedia version of the iPod with a video iTunes store by the end of 2006.
UBS Investment Research analysts Ben Reitzes and Jeff Brickman said: "We would not be surprised if Apple eventually launched some form of multimedia iPod. The analysts claim that Apple is monitoring the reception of the Sony PSP's video playing features, suggesting that if the PSP were accepted as a video playing device, it would validate the market for a video iPod.
Vnu.net writes that, the analysts predicted that a multimedia iPod would launch in 2006 and an iTunes store for movies and video would launch by the end of 2006. The video iPod will cost less than $500, they predict.
