The iPod is a popular resident of the Virgin Atlantic Airways lounge at Heathrow Airport.
In a newsletter to frequent flyers Virgin said: "We already have iPods in the Heathrow Clubhouse, and as they've been so popular, we will soon be adding them to our new Clubhouse at JFK (in New York)."
According to a Cnet report, passengers can borrow an iPod to listen to music – provided by Virgin Megastores – before boarding long-haul flights.
Earlier this month Virgin Digital announced that it is developing a digital jukebox and online-music store with music delivery company MusicNet in the US. The service, which is expected to launch in the summer, will support Microsoft's Windows Media Audio, which isn't supported by Apple's iPod. Whether Virgin Airways will favour the product of another division of the company remains to be seen.
