Econ Technologies is shipping ImageCaster, a Web cam application built for Mac OS X.
The program is designed around a simple, tabbed interface. It makes it easy for anyone to broadcast images with a Mac and a video camera, the company says.
Images are selected from any source. Mac OS X camera drivers are recognized, so all available cameras automatically appear for selection.
Users format images for uploading, schedule them, and choose the destination. ImageCaster stores Web cam settings in documents, an unlimited number of Web cams and upload destinations can be set-up.
Multiple video -mages can be broadcast simultaneously, opening the door to uses such as security and surveillance.
Advanced features ImageCaster also provides numerous advanced features: the source image, which can come from video or an image file on the hard disk, can be resized, scaled, or rotated.
Text and graphic-objects, including automatic date and time stamps, can be overlaid on top of the image. Web cam images can be delivered in all QuickTime-compatible file-formats, including JPEG and PNG.
ImageCaster is available now for $20. A free demo is also available. The application requires Mac OS X 10.1 or later.
