Innovative UK digital music service provider Wippit will announce a partnership with London's Evening Standard newspaper later today.

Wippit offers music in both Windows Media and MP3 formats. Most tracks are available in both formats, so the service is suitable for all platforms and music players.

Evening Standard readers who collect any two passwords (passwords will be published daily this week) can enjoy 50 free music downloads from Wippit's service. Readers must visit the URL that will be published in tomorrow's Evening Standard to activate their passwords.

Once both passwords have been approved, readers will be presented with ten music downloads each day until the end of the week, when all 50 will be made available.

Live it large, London

Artists available in this promotion include: Elvis Presley, Santana, Ray Charles, Donna Summer, James Brown, Eddie Izzard, Sham 69, Everything But the Girl, The Spencer Davis Group, The Dead Kennedys, Sean Hughes and Marc Bolan.

Wippit founder Paul Myers said: "Partnering with the Evening Standard was the ideal choice for us. It reaches the audience we aim to serve - Londoners.

"London is the coolest city on the planet, and Londoners know their music. Their tastes are not dictated by music television shows with narrow playlists, or manufactured pop, but by good music. Like Wippit's catalogue, good music is diverse, new and old, hard and soft, fast and slow."

Wippit offers both an unlimited-download subscription service and à la carte downloads. Prices start from 29p per track.
